Sustainability

Circular Economy

Battery recycling is not a choice but a priority for the future of e-mobility. Urban mining will be a large contributor to the critical minerals being used repeatedly for an Electric Mobility purpose without compromising on the performance of the batteries. Recycling has a significantly smaller impact on the environment than traditional mining and will ensure that these critical minerals are not lost forever.

By 2027, LICO is poised to recycle batteries from 200,000 small electric cars annually which relates to a saving of 100 Million litres of water equivalent to 40 Olympic size Swimming Pools and saving of CO2 emissions equivalent to CO2 absorption by 37 Million trees.

Lico's sustainibility

LICO

At LICO, we have always believed in upholding the highest standards in safety and environmental sustainability, providing a cleaner, more ethical method of producing critical finite battery materials than the mining industry. Our business policy encompasses all environmental, health & safety, and quality best practices.
No-chemical

The non-chemical process
adopted during shredding

zero waste

Zero wastage and Zero discharge or No battery waste

No-sewage-treatment

No sewage treatment

No harmful gas

No harmful gas emissions

Our Bengaluru facility is a zero liquid discharge plant ensuring that almost all the components in a battery are recovered during the mechanical separating process

We reuse 3 lakh liters of water annually,  leveraging our cutting-edge, future-friendly solutions!

We are proud to be the initial point of circularity by collecting and recycling the batteries to give them ahead to cathode and anode manufacturers, who then supply to cell manufacturers. By doing this, we are essentially closing the loop.
